The story was released in 2011, and unlike the James Potter stories, is available on sale at all booksellers.

Book Description Edit

"In a time of wizards, vampires, and werewolves, she dared to be the most amazing thing of all... herself."

As the kingdom of Camelot descends into complacency, an ambitiously sadistic madman known as Merodach advances his rogue armies, recruiting by the sword and threatening revolt. 18-year-old Princess Gabriella is the only one who understands the severity of the threat, but is powerless to convince her father or her brave commoner husband, Darrick. With defeat all but certain, Gabriella sets out on a final, separate quest. Her plan: to confront and defeat the madman Merodach before his armies can destroy everything she loves. Alone and on foot, she must cross the haunted magical wasteland known as the Tempest Barrens, where she is beset by mutant beasts, capricious magical creatures, and even the walking dead. In the end, wounded and hopeless, Gabriella finally confronts her nemesis and learns his final horrible secret: he is not alone, and the forces he has allied with are far more powerful than anyone could have ever imagined.

Connection to James Potter Edit

Like the James and Harry Potter stories alike, the story is set in a fictional world where magical and non-magical people co-exist. By the time the book begins, wizarding people and governments have already begun to shield themselves from the non-magical world. This time period is referenced several times throughout the James Potter series.

"Merlin's Gift," one of the holiday-themed stories in the Harry's First Christmas collection, precedes the events of Ruins of Camelot. It mentions a young girl named Gabriella, who is said to have a descendent (a "Potter") who will save a lot of people. This is meant to refer to the idea that she is the ancestor of James and Harry. Which is also confirmed by the fact that Gabriella's husband is said to come from a family of "pot-makers."

In James Potter and the Morrigan Web, she is one of the people seen in the Mirror of Erised by James and his father, who says how she likes the name "James." At the end of Ruins of Camelot, it's revealed that this is the name she gave to her child.
