"I enjoyed this story, as the author, because it gave me so much more wiggle room for invention. Taking the story out of Hogwarts and into Alma Aleron made it a much more personal story, and allowed me to make up my own rules along the way, which I quite like."
—G. Norman Lippert

James Potter and the Vault of Destinies is the third book in the James Potter series by G. Norman Lippert, which acts as a follow-up to Lippert's novella, The Girl on the Dock. The story revolves around James and his family (along with a few friends) as they travel to America and spend the school year at Alma Aleron in Pennsylvania. Throughout the term James tries to adjust to the change, discover the secrets of Ignatius Magnussen, and whether or not his friend, Petra is as good as he thinks she is.

The story was released in early 2010, and is available for free digital download in PDF, EPUB, and MOBI formats. An audiobook version narrated by Jus Sargeant is also available from Living Audio, UK.

Book Description Edit

It is a year of change and upheaval for the entire Potter family. Harry, as head Auror, has been sent to the United States to help investigate a nefarious underground group whose proclaimed goals are to unite the Muggle and Magical worlds by any means necessary. Unwilling to be separated for the lengthy trip, Ginny insists that the family accompany Harry, launching a year-long journey to the United States and the American wizarding school of Alma Aleron. Though determined to avoid adventure for the term, James finds himself confronted with the mysterious Vault of Destinies, and an international incident involving an old friend. Difficult as it might be, James must choose to confront the troubles ahead... regardless of the consequences.
